Marquette County Fair 2017
Good Luck at the State Fair
Kaylin Brandsma and Benjamin Donat!
Can you bake a really great pie? Or can your Aunt, Uncle or Cousin make the Best Pie you have ever tasted? If so, let’s get that Pie into the Marquette County Fair Blue Ribbon Pie Contest. This is a public event where the pies are displayed, judged and then tasted by the audience (for a nominal cost which is donated to a Charity).
Bring your Prize-Winning Pie to the Big White Tent on Saturday, July 8th with registration beginning at 11:30 am. The judging will begin at noon. (You do not need to pre-register online.)
Your pie should be entered into one of the following pie categories: fruit, main dish, specialty or double crust.
Last year’s Grand Prize Winner was a Triple Cheese Stuffed Rigatoni Pie baked by Carmen Satterly. Other winners from the 2016 Pie Contest were: Georgia Pecan Pie by Jan Ebert, Rhubarb Raspberry by Virginia Dagel, Butterfinger Pie by Rebecca Richmond and Cherry Pie by Kathleen McGwin.
This year, there will be two rounds of judging. The first round will sample all the pies and 3 judges will recommend one pie from each category to move into the Grand Championship Round. The second set of judges will select the Grand Prize Winner. Awards will be given for each Category winner as well as the Grand Champion.
